This year, like every year for as long as I can remember, my family went to Cape Cod for the 4th of July. It was extra fun this year, though, because of the recent opening of Quotation Marks.
As you can see, Rose and I went all out.
Although we usually go to the parade on the 4th, we heard rumors that the parade was going to be 3 hours long. So we did what any sane sisters would do, and went shopping instead (see necklace in last pictures for proof).
I have to say that although shopping was really fun, it wasn’t the highlight of the day.
The best part was spending time with my family down the Cape, just like I used to when I was Rose’s age.
Rose and I would like to point out that she is not taller than me… it’s just my shoes (that she’s wearing) that make me look like the little sister.
Another highlight of the day happened while Rose and I were exploring downtown Chatham. I had more than one person compliment me on our scarves, and I even got a chance to give away some business cards.
After one woman complimented me multiple times on our scarves, Rose came over and whispered, “Are you secretly jumping up and down inside with excitement?”
She knows me way too well.
Things started getting a little crazy from there…
What fun things did you do on the 4th of July? What are your family traditions?
